What’s new in Amplify Up — features, improvements, and fixes for operators.

What’s new in Amplify Up, written for the people who run sites and compose pages. The latest updates appear below; earlier notes are listed by year and month.

September 2026

September 9, 2026

Clearer contribution management

Contributions are easier to find, edit, and act on from one list.

Feature

  • Edit a contribution’s name, workflow, owner, and target release in one dialog
  • Filter the contributions list by campaign, workflow, or content type

Improvement

  • Start, open, edit, delete, and follow-up actions share one Actions menu
  • Owners show as short names instead of full email addresses
  • Components and Zones lists drop redundant card titles

Fixes

  • Creating an automation key saves reliably when signed in

September 8, 2026

Automation keys for scripts

Scripts can update a workspace without someone signing in, and product docs are easier to find.

Feature

  • Create an automation key so scripts can update components and entities without signing in
  • Choose what each key can do, and set it to expire in 90 days or never

Improvement

  • Product docs now open on a searchable home and separate marketer guides from developer setup

Steadier Composer preview for article pages

Composer preview for pages with URL patterns (like articles) now waits for the right entry before painting, so you see one complete preview instead of an empty flash and a reload.

Fixes

  • Pattern pages in Composer load once with the selected entry filled in—no empty preview, then a second load
  • Opening a page no longer saves anything until you make an edit
  • Saving layout or content updates the live preview without refreshing the whole canvas
  • Empty images stay selectable on the canvas so you can replace them

September 5, 2026

Edit list items on the canvas · Fill empty images and text on the canvas · Clearer rich text editing on the canvas

Article grids and other lists on the page are now editable on the Composer canvas, the same way you edit headings and images.

Feature

  • Edit a list item on the canvas and the change saves to that entry
  • When the same entry appears in more than one list, one edit updates it everywhere

Improvement

  • Search results on the canvas stay editable when they come from a connected list
  • Click away from a text field with no edits and the editor closes without extra prompts
  • If you changed the text and click elsewhere, Composer asks whether to save or discard
  • Canvas selection and editing tools update more reliably without getting stuck on an older version

Fixes

  • Empty images and text on new entries can be selected and filled on the Composer canvas
  • Preview pages load fonts and styles more consistently so the canvas matches your site

September 4, 2026

Steadier Composer canvas selection

Selection and field tools stay aligned with the page you’re previewing, so editing feels precise as you scroll and resize.

Improvement

  • Selection outlines and controls stay locked to the canvas when you scroll, resize, or switch device preview
  • Select an image on the canvas and open Replace to edit it in the content panel you already use
  • Press Escape to clear the selection, or Delete to remove a selected component—without deleting characters while you edit rich text

Fixes

  • Composer preview loads your site reliably again instead of stalling or failing to show page scripts

September 3, 2026

Rich text and images in Composer

Write and illustrate content in Composer without leaving the page you’re designing.

Feature

  • Edit long-form copy with a visual editor—on the canvas or in the inspector
  • Set images from your library, an upload, or a link; new files join your library automatically

Improvement

  • Clicking a nested block on the canvas selects that block, not the page behind it
  • Switching views clears the inspector so it matches the page you’re looking at

Fixes

  • Body copy stored as formatted HTML shows as readable text instead of tags

Reliable in-page links on live sites · Follow-up contributions from workflow steps

Live personalized pages keep normal link clicks working, and site components can pass content values more directly into AmplifyUp fields.

Feature

  • Configure actions on any workflow step so operators can create a follow-up contribution idea with one click
  • Open a prefilled create dialog from contribution lists (title, workflow, campaigns, owner, and target release ready to edit)

Improvement

  • Pass content straight into Field, RichText, and Image from your component props—less lookup by name
  • Browse earlier product release notes by year and month when you need the full history
  • See where a follow-up came from and how many follow-ups a contribution has already spawned
  • Workflow step pickers show more states at once with clearer color markers

Fixes

  • On live personalized sites, in-page links open with a normal click instead of only working when opened in a new tab
  • Opening work from contributions into Composer lands on the intended page and preview more reliably

Contributions, workflows, and campaign planning

Plan content work as ideas first, attach it when you're ready, and see it across every campaign it supports.

Feature

  • Contributions is a new Campaigns destination—capture ideas site-wide, link them to zero or many campaigns, then Start to attach content when ready
  • Configure workflow steps—edit labels, colors, who acts, transitions, and optional notifications to your tools when work enters a state

Improvement

  • Campaign detail leads with Overview and workflow progress; List, Gantt, and Schedule are easier to navigate
  • Open in Composer from a contribution lands on the correct view and preview path; Start advances workflow per your configured steps

Fixes

  • Gantt timeline navigation and headers are clearer (Today, quarter collapse, less trailing space)
  • Breadcrumbs show Pillar → Section → Page with real page names

Plan campaigns and contributions

Campaigns are now their own home in AmplifyUp—plan the work, assign workflows, and tie each piece to real content.

Feature

  • Open Campaigns from the main navigation to create campaigns with priority and date ranges
  • Add contributions on a campaign: pick a content type, assign a workflow, and link existing content or create a new entry
  • See workflow progress at a glance on the campaign list view, and update state or target release right in the table

Delete pages completely from Composer

Removing a page in Composer now means what it says: the page, its full version history, and any nested pages are gone—and live visitors stop getting that layout.

Improvement

  • Delete page removes every saved version (draft and live), not just the version you were viewing
  • Deleting a parent page also removes nested pages under that route and their full history
  • A confirmation step explains how many pages will be removed and whether any are live today
  • A short progress checklist shows removal steps completing before you return to the parent page in the tree

Fixes

  • Deleting a page from the Pages panel now works reliably on the first try
