Amplify Up

Content

Variants and reusable blocks that fill a page.

Content is the copy, media, and blocks that fill a composed page. You connect a source, bind it to components, and publish variants for different audiences — without changing the site’s code.

Connect a source

  1. Open the site in the dashboard.
  2. Add a content source (for example your CMS).
  3. In Composer, open Content on a component and pick the document or fields to show.

If a heading or image is empty on the canvas, the field name in Amplify Up probably does not match what the site registered. Ask a developer to confirm the names, then bind again.

Variants

A variant is a different version of the same region on a page — usually for an audience. You still deploy the whole page; Amplify Up chooses which variant a returning visitor sees.

Typical uses:

  • A different headline for high-intent shoppers
  • A different hero for first-time visitors vs returning visitors
  • A seasonal block that only some audiences should see

Create the variant in Composer, assign an audience, then Save and Deploy. Drafts do not affect live visitors.

Reusable blocks

Zones and components can be reused across pages so a banner, footer promo, or product strip stays consistent.

  • Edit the block once; pages that use it pick up the change after you deploy.
  • Keep reusable blocks focused (one job per block) so variants stay easy to reason about.

Save vs deploy

ActionWhat it does
SaveKeeps a draft for your team. Visitors still see the last deployed page.
DeployPublishes the page, including content and variants, to the live site.

Preview in Composer shows drafts immediately. Confirm the live URL after Deploy.

Next step

When a variant should only show for some people, describe that group in Audiences, then check results in Insights.
